SAILING BOAT TRIPS @ KASSANDRA, PALLINI, HALKIDIKI, GREECE
Settle into the easy rhythm of the sea
From my little corner of Halkidiki, I have watched guests arrive stressed and leave smiling, usually with salt in their hair and that calm look you only get after a day on the water. Sailing here is simple in the best way. Clear bays, friendly distances, and plenty of time to swim, eat, and just breathe.
If you are staying on Kassandra or thinking of hopping across to Sithonia for the day, a sail boat trip is one of those experiences that fits almost everyone. Even people who say they “are not boat people” end up asking when they can go again, it happens all the time.

Meet the wonderful world of sailing and sailing with us in the uniquely beautiful areas of Kassandra or Sithonia!
Why choose Halkidiki
It is well known that Halkidiki is considered a destination that meets all tastes and preferences. The clear blue waters, the beautiful beaches, the settlements that exude a Greek aura, and the natural landscapes of memorable beauty, create an extraordinary setting for summer vacations. Of course, all these, in combination with the favourable climate and the mild winds, are suitable for unique excursions or vacations with a sailing boat! Day sail boat trips and tours to Sithonia from Kassandra.
Geographically, you are right on the doorstep of the Toroneos Gulf, between Kassandra and Sithonia, so you get sheltered water and short hops between swim stops. The light winds are a big reason families like it, and also why first-time sailors feel comfortable. If you want a quick look at the wider region and how the peninsulas sit, Wikipedia’s Chalkidiki overview is actually handy.
For weather, the sea breeze usually builds gently through the day. Conditions can change, so it is always worth checking an official forecast near your travel dates, like the Hellenic National Meteorological Service. In July and August, it is hot on land and cooler on the water, and the sea is at its clearest in the morning.
Charter Yacht Program
We will start from Chrousso marina. Our all-day trip will start at 12 or 11 am with the destination the Gulf of Toroneos.
As a hotelier, the question I get most is “Will we feel rushed?” Not on this kind of day. You have time for proper swims, a bit of sailing when the breeze is right, and those quiet moments when the boat is anchored and you can hear nothing but water lapping the hull. If you are visiting in shoulder season, late May or September, the light is softer and the bays feel more private, even though the sea is still lovely.
Starting point
It is very easy to be at one of the starting points of our trip. If you come from areas such as Sani, Kallithea, Kriopigi, N. Fokia, N. Moudania, Paliouri, Hanioti, Fourka, Possidi, Skioni, Siviri, Agia Paraskevi and generally from areas in the first leg, then the pier of Chrousso marina is really convenient as a starting point.
Of course, for any questions or clarification, contact our organizers. We can help you rent a car, or you can come by road with some of our partners.
Practical note from someone who has sent many guests off early and late. In high summer, leave a little extra time for traffic around the busy resort stretches, and bring a bit of patience for parking near popular marinas. If you are based in Thessaloniki, Halkidiki is an easy drive south, and the first leg of Kassandra is usually the simplest for day trips.
If you like to plan with official sources, the Greek National Tourism Organisation has useful background on regions and travel tips that change year to year.
Itinerary
Itinerary step by step:
- The first stop is the island of Kelyfos, also known as “Turtle”, which is part of the Toroneos Gulf. Here, we will swim and admire the magical turquoise waters and the naturally beautiful landscape that surrounds them. It is worth noting that the seabed is stony and is a great opportunity to explore it with a mask.
- Then, while the appropriate breeze has risen for sailing, we will sail to the small island of Gerochristos and the famous Laimos beach. It is a remote and inaccessible beach, accessible only by sea and boat, especially known to celebrities from around the world, such as Angelina Jolie. It is a strip of sand surrounded by beautiful turquoise waters.
- After we visit this specific beach, the third stop will take place on the famous beach of Halkidiki, called “Kammenos”, which can be reached exclusively by sea. The crystal clear waters and the green landscape will surely enchant you!
- Return to base.
Note that the route is flexible. Both your wishes and the weather conditions will be taken into account. However, Halkidiki is sunny almost all summer with mild winds and the weather will probably not cause any problems.
On the day, it is worth listening to the skipper about the best order of stops. Sometimes the sea is like glass early on, perfect for snorkelling, and later you get that pleasant breeze for proper sailing. If anyone in your group is not a strong swimmer, tell the crew early, it makes everthing smoother and more relaxed.
What it feels like on board
A day sail in the Toroneos Gulf is not about ticking boxes. You will spend time sunbathing, chatting, taking photos, and jumping in for swims when you feel like it. The water colour here is the thing that surprises people, especially if they have only seen Halkidiki from the road.
- Morning and early afternoon usually give the best visibility for snorkelling.
- Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a hat, the sun reflects off the sea and catches you quickly.
- If you get seasick easily, eat lightly before boarding and keep your eyes on the horizon during sailing.
What to bring from your hotel
You do not need to overpack. Most guests are happiest with a small soft bag and the basics. If you are travelling with children, pack one extra dry top, because someone always ends up wetter than planned.
- Swimwear and a light cover-up
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
- A mask for snorkelling if you have one
- A phone pouch for photos near the water
- A light layer for the ride back if the breeze picks up

This is also a lovely choice for couples who want something special without a big crowd. If you are choosing dates, I always suggest picking the day you want to feel your best, not the day you are tired from travel. A sail day is one of those memories that sticks, especially in Halkidiki, where the sea really is the main event.
